So, your kid is grown up and you need a booster seat.  What exactly are we talking about!  A booster seat is one where the child seats on the booster and use the adult seat belt to secure themselves down.  Some parents and grandparents ask if they could get just the booster base, without the backing.  This no longer meets Australian Safety standards.  You must seat a child in a booster till 7 years old or until they reach 145cm in an approved booster seat.

There are many booster seats on the market.  But, if you are after the top of the range, then the Britax Kid Guard and the Maxi Cosi Rodi are the best of the best in this category.  Both are comfortable and easy to use.  But, some features between the 2 models will be the deciding factor.

Maxi Cosi Rodi

The Rodi AP has a two position recline and expandable side wings, so comfort is taken care of for children of all sizes. With an easy belt path, you can quickly buckle up your child for each and every ride.

The Maxi Cosi Rodi is suitable for 4 years to 8 years.  While, the Britax Kid Guard is suitable from 4 to 10 years.

If you have 3 seats across the back, then the Britax Kid Guard is the better choice as it has a smaller base, easily allowing your child to access the buckle for the seat belt.

The Maxi Cosi Rodi has a easy seat belt path for quick buckle up and go.  Children using the Kid Guard must buckle the seal belt through the red SecureGuard buckle on each ride.  These are anti-submarining safety devices.

The Kid Guard and the Rodi booster both must also be secure to the anchor bolt for correct installation.  Both booster are well built with many features and safety in the design.  The choice comes down to your needs and your preference to the design.
